Europe’s Fateful 2024 Elections. Under the Sign of War, Populism and Digital Disruption: What to Do?
Europe faces critical decisions as threats to democracy and geopolitical shifts grow. In the next legislative period, the European Parliament and Commission must strengthen democracy and deepen European integration. Disinformation in a vulnerable digital space poses a major threat, and Europe must respond by building its own digital infrastructure and using AI to protect access to trustworthy information.
Published in the “Future Europe” Journal by the European Liberal Forum, Matthias Pfeffer highlights the need for Europe to embrace AI-driven innovations, like real-time translation technologies, to bridge language barriers and foster a unified, democratic public space.
